Personal Reflection

RAVEN SAYS:
In handling this ITLG project, I have learnt alot of things from different aspects of the job scope which includes creating a blog to present research information about IT Outsourcing, creating a video and setting up a booth. Through researching of IT Outsourcing from many resources (Internet, textbook, etc.), I have gained value research skills and understood that IT Outsourcing information is so overwhelming in all research resources. With the well presented format of IT Outsourcing, other people who view our blog can have a better understanding of the background, chronology, legal and ethical issues, pitfalls and problems, and possible action to take when you or your company is going for IT Outsourcing. I had a lot of fun in taking the video together with my group mates. The video will tell everything when you have view our video. (*ENJOY) Last but not least, creativity can be spurred from everyone of us when we are cracking our brains to design our booth, so if you have the time, come down to Ngee Ann Polytechnic Block 72 Level 2 Ourspace on 22th January 4-6pm to take a look at our booth. You will be expecting surprises at our booth!

JACKSON SAYS:
Upon completing this project, I understand how outsourcing can be related to IT and how people outsources IT to the other countries, such as India and China. This blog is created in a way that its grapically appealing, in order to initiate interest for reader to read on. Based on our researches and findings of IT outsouring, we learnt more than what we could from the textbook and we would like to share it with the readers as well. Thus, having this blog will let more people know about IT outsourcing.

ZHIHENG SAYS:
This project has indeed broadened my knowledge of IT outsourcing. As outsourcing is becoming remarkably popular among companies throughout the world, I feel that knowing a thing or two about IT outsourcing will be advantageous for us BIT students as this business strategy involves both IT and business skills. By knowing the problems and ethical issues faced by present companies with regards to outsourcing, we can look out for them in future. Last but not least, I strongly feel that it is a fantastic way of using a blog to transmit the information of outsourcing.

DENNIS SAYS:
Embarking on this project of IT outsourcing was definitely stepping into something of the unknown. I wasn't really into IT outsourcing at first since the topic was not chosen. I had hardly any idea what IT outsourcing is. But going through the project, it sure added to my collection of knowledge in the IT world. Outsourcing is an extremely useful tool but one has to use with caution. Knowing the risks and pitfalls is a major priority. Benefits usually doesn't come instanteneous, so does it for outsourcing, whether or not it involves IT. Being able to outsource operations to other companies so that your own company can focus better on core operations. Still, one must never forget the ethics, legalities and dangers involved in dealing with such a beneficial deal. Always plan well!
